This article analyzes the current state of the "blue economy", the interest of venture investors in supporting environmentally oriented startups. This study has shown that today venture capital funds are actively looking for opportunities in the field of the blue economy, taking into account both economic profits and their social responsibility, as evidenced by the positive dynamics of concluded transactions. The relevance of the research topic of this article is due to the fact that the "blue economy" has enormous economic and transformational potential and is of great importance for the global competitiveness of countries, given the breadth of the sectors it covers, the number of companies and jobs it supports, as well as the depth of its value chains. It should be noted that, despite the prospects of the blue economy, this area is still at the initial stage of formation, which implies a number of challenges for venture capitalists, however, with proper strategic planning and the use of scientific approaches can lead to successful results. The need for research in the field of oceanic economics is justified by the fact that scientific works covering this sector make a positive contribution to the achievement of SDG 14 and other interrelated SDGs.
