An urgent problem of modern clinical medicine is the increase in the incidence of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). IBDs serve as a background for the occurrence of venous thromboembolic complications (VTEC), the probability of which increases from 2 to 9 times. In domestic clinical guidelines for the management of patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, information on the prevention and treatment of VTEC is absent. Meanwhile, the occurrence of VTEC in patients with IBD is an important medical and social problem, the significance of which is currently increasing. Today, the prerequisites have been created for including the prevention and treatment of VTEC in patients with IBD in future domestic clinical recommendations. This is all the more important because in 2015, russians clinical guidelines were developed for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of venous thromboembolic complications, in which sections on VTEC in patients with IBD are highlighted. The article discusses the pathogenesis, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of VTEC in patients with IBD under various conditions, taking into account the information accumulated by modern medical science.
