Verkhneudinsk municipal people's revolutionary committee as a successor of the administrative board of Verkhneudinsk

In the article, based on the analysis of the Law on Elections to Local, Rural, Volost, Municipal and Uyezd Authorities of The Far Eastern Republic of June 3, 1920, we consider the main mechanisms and peculiarities of the new electoral system proposed by the Soviet government, drawing on the example of Verkhneudinsk. The Election Law analysis is supplemented by materials from The State Archives of the Republic of Buryatia (SARB). Working with the Fund 15 "Verkhneudinsk Municipal People's Revolutionary Committee" has allowed us to completely recreate the electoral process that is necessary for the formation of a qualitatively new apparatus of municipal government.
