Verkhneudinsk/Ulan-Ude period in the life of a Mongolian scientist Bazarin Shirendyb (1932-1937)

The article studies an important period in the life of an outstanding Mongolian scientist, historian, academician, founder of Mongolian University and the Mongolian Academy of Sciences Bazaryn Shirendyb. From 1932 to 1937 he studied at Mongolian Workers' School in Verkhneudinsk (from 1934 Ulan-Ude) of the Buryat-Mongolian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. An analysis of literary sources has shown that there is no enough studies on this issue. Quite rightly, the researches pay more attention to the Irkutsk period of B. Shirendyb’s life. Based on the sources from the archival collection “Mongolian Workers' School”, we have presented information on the living conditions and learning environment of Mongolian students in this educational institution.
