Vertical context and plot and compositional features of a modern northern Irish novel

The article deals with the plot and composition of modern northern irish novel. The novel under analysis is “No Bones” by Ann Burns. The analysis reveals the Troubles to be the main topic of the novel. So, historical background connected with “the Troubles” is important for the understanding of the main idea of the novel. It is proved that vertical context is interrelated with plot and compositional features.
