Science journal of Volgograd State University. Jurisprudence: conservation of the traditions as a basis of advancement

The article is prepared by chief editor of Science Journal of Volgograd State University. Jurisprudence and is dedicated to the history of the formation of scientific-theoretical journal as an authoritative periodical, peer-reviewed by HAC of the Ministry of Education and Science, which publishes the main results obtained by the authors during the dissertation research. It describes the main milestones in the development and promotion of the journal up the hierarchy of publishing. The author lists and analyzes the criteria which allow to evaluate the journal as a high-quality discussion platform demanded by the scientific community. This platform is continuously being improved, following the traditions established during the years of publication and publishing inherent to this level. The author gratefully remembers the people who stood at the origins of Science Journal of Volgograd State University. Jurisprudence and at various times performed the functions connected with the administration and conceptual development. The author describes the journal’s structure, passport and nomenclature filling of headings in accordance with the components of their specialties, print quota, the target audience, the possibility for authors to popularize their research results, perspectives and plans. The main characteristics of the journal are indicated: pluralistic nature, openness to innovation, wide geographical affiliation of authors, focus on a new legal policy of the Russian state, constant improvement of the quality.
