As a result of the emissions of significant amount of toxic elements into the atmosphere, a number of territories in the region acquire the status of biogeochemical provinces of anthropogenic origin. Toxic elements on these territories enter the animal body through the feed, where they are accumulated and negatively affect metabolic processes. The purpose of the study was to make veterinary and sanitary evaluation of slaughter byproducts of the horses that were reared in anthropogenic provinces; and to develop the method for correcting their metabolic processes. The studies were conducted on the basis of the “Istok” complex of Verkhneuralsk district of Chelyabinsk Region. At the first stage of the study environmental objects were monitored, the soil, fodder crops, water, snow and blood samples were examined in order to determine toxic elements content in them.
