This article describes the curriculum vitae of the dignitary public educator and teacher-scholar of the second half of XIX - beginning of XX century Andrei Ivanovich Anastasiev (1852-1914). Description of its practical development activities for the enlightenment in the Russian provinces and his pedagogical beliefs are given.
