Aster (Aster L.) is one of the most decorative and ecologically significant genera within the family Asteraceae. This article presents a comprehensive analysis of the species and cultivar diversity of 13 promising aster cultivars belonging to six species. Detailed morphological characteristics, flowering periods and duration, as well as ornamental features of each cultivar are described. Based on a systematic analysis of scientific and practical literature the high effectiveness of using these cultivars in urban greening is substantiated. The research findings confirm that modern aster cultivars are a versatile, cost-effective, and ecologically sustainable tool for creating vibrant, long-lasting, and biodiverse urban green spaces capable of maintaining ornamental value from May to November.
