The article gives the data on prevalence and harmfulness of dry rot agent in sunflower varieties. The short description of history of studying the classification of Rhizopus Ehrenb race is given. Modern criteria of taxonomy of these fungi are given. The species composition in sunflower is determined on the basis of studying the morphological traits and the species relations to growth temperature. Distinctive diagnostic traits of fungi species of Rhizopus Ehrenb race are described. Photos of morphological features of species are presented.
