The species composition and modern population status of snakes in the Middle and Lower Priamurye

The article presents the materials on the fauna and population of snakes in the Middle and Lower Priamurye. The suborder Snakes Serpentes L., 1758 is represented by 8 species from 2 families and 6 genera - Rhabdophis tigrina, Amphiesma vibakari, Oocatochus rufodor-satus, Elaphe schrenckii, E. dione, Vipera sachalinensis, Gloydius intermedius G. ussuri-ensis. For all species the General characteristic of distribution in Russia and Amur region, biotope distribution, findings of snakes in the region, limiting factors are given. For some species the data on population dynamics from the second half of the twentieth century to the present time are presented. Almost half of the species composition of Reptiles is included in the regional Red list. The main limiting factor in the Khabarovsk region is the anthropogenic transformation of natural complexes, especially in places where mineral deposits are developed.
