Types of juvenile delinquency in the first half of the 1920s (a case study of Karelia)

Based on the case study of Karelia, the article points out the types of juvenile delinquency in the first half of the 1920s. Youth crime in the period under review persisted in connection with the need for children to earn their livelihoods by themselves, so property crimes were the leading ones. The shift in moral values in children, looking after adults led to cases of crimes against the individual. The author used a wide range of sources, primarily several documents and materials of The National Archive of the Republic of Karelia. The Juvenile Affairs Commission was the main organizer of precautions against juvenile delinquency. While analyzing of the materials of commissions, the author defines such types of crime, as property crimes, crimes against life, crimes against health, crimes against liberty and dignity of a person, political and economic offences.
