The article considers the types of institutions of peremptory democracy in the Russian Federation: referendum and elections, gathering of citizens, recall of an elected person and voting on changing the boundaries and transformation of a municipality. Each of the institutions is given not only a brief characteristic, but also an analysis of their legal nature in the context of peremptory democracy.
