The work deals with structural changes occurring in the knee and ankle in case of tibial shaft defect of different genesis. The revealed clinical-and-roentgenological signs of articular deforming arthrosis evidence the severity of the concomitant degenerative process, which complicates patients' rehabilitation and requires performing individual tactics of osteosynthesis with an external fixator.
