Virtual culture as a phenomenon of the modern times and its representation in the subcultural practices

The article discusses comprehension of the virtual culture as a specific phenomenon of the modern times. The research focuses on the conceptualization of the virtual culture as a new phenomenon and on definition of its features. The special attention is paid to the representation of the virtual culture by case study of such subcultures as Tolkien fandom and cyber-travelers.
