The article examines the visual and graphic features of Andrei Cherkasov’s poetry and provides the first comprehensive analysis of his poetry collections “Easier Than It Seems”, “Decentralized Observation”, “Wind in Parts” and “Additional Fields”. It is in these collections that his minimalist techniques are most clearly manifested: repetition, illogicality, semantic and lexical fragmentation, lack of punctuation and emptiness. At the heart of Andrei Cherkasov’s poetry is what he himself calls “greedy vision” - the ability to peer into objects of the surrounding world, primarily especially the urban environment and find unusual phonetic and visual features in them. In recent years, with the development and popularization of digital technologies, which have become an integral part of modern life, visual poetry has become of great interest. A particularly relevant form of visual poetry is blackout, which is now often used as a gaming practice, a form of art therapy. However, blackout is not just entertainment, but a unique form at the intersection of visual poetry and ready-made, with its own history, creators and popularizers, including Andrey Cherkasov in Russia. This article also pays special attention to the avant-garde traditions of the poets of the Lianozovo school, OBERIUTs and Moscow conceptualism in the poetry of the author under study.
