This article is devoted to the contribution of UNESCO to the preservation of the world cultural heritage. The study conducted suggests that with the creation of a specialized organization in 1946, a qualitatively new stage in international cooperation and the development of international law in the field of protection and actualization of cultural heritage began. The international definition of the object of protection - “cultural heritage”, instead of “cultural values”, developed with the participation of UNESCO, has become important. UNESCO serves as a consulting center focused on the development of internationally recognized ethical and legal principles for the protection, mainstreaming and use of cultural heritage. The issue has a multifaceted nature.
Unesco, international partnership, international law, cultural heritage, consulting center, international standards for the protection, ethical principles of protection, protection of cultural artifacts
