VNIIMK'S contribution into scientific providing of rape production

The results of breeding work with winter and spring rape and turnip rape at VNIIMK are stated. 19 varieties of crucifers oil crops of vniimk breeding, due to international quality standards, are included in state variety register in 2005. The main trends of research work in present time are breeding on seed productivity, breeding on resistance to biotic and abiotic factors - winter hardy plants, early maturity, drought resistance, and resistance to the main pathogens, breeding on oxidative stability of oil and yellowseeded varieties, hybrids breeding on the CMS base. The large fund of line material is created, analogs of parental lines are created and studied, and experimental hybrids are estimated in field conditions.
