Exoticism insertions in the anglophone literary texts and their functions

At present, the question of the insertion of exoticism in the literary text seems to be narrow, but relevant, because by means of such lexical units the characteristic features of the ethnic group, lifestyle, language contacts and mentality are being transmitted. In the scientific linguistic literature, one can find structural and functional differences between such types as: foreign language vocabulary, borrowings, foreign language insertions; questions about the functional and stylistic features of exotic vocabulary are also being discussed, including those of this phenomenon using in the system of the national language. Exotic vocabulary touches upon the issues of language mixing, code switching, foreign language insertions not only in the spoken language of bilinguals, but also in literary discourse. The article focuses on various studies of this phenomenon and the functions of exoticisms. The role of exoticism insertions of the Spanish language in the bilingual English-language literary text of bicultural writers who use exoticisms both as the device of the language game and as the full-fledged language phenomenon is shown.
