The article presents the perspective of the method of participant observation used for studying social perception of police special assignment divisions’ officers in military combat situations. The author reveals the analysis of the main results of using this method, describes social and perceptive peculiarities in the work of police special assignment divisions’ officers of the Russian MVD (SOBR and OMON).
