Saint Vladimir and Byzantium

This material is a republication of a little-available article by Georgiy Aleksandrovich Ostrogorskiy (1902-1976), a distinguished Yugoslav scholar of Russian origin. The article deals with the specificity of the Russian-Byzantine relations in the era of the Baptism of Rus’ on the background of the pan-European political interrelations. The article reflects the level of research on this question at the first half of the twentieth century and may be useful to historians of both theological and philosophical science. It is printed in the author’s edition, but in modern orthography according to the publication: Ostrogorskiy G. A. Vladimir Svyatoy i Vizantiya // Vladimirskiy sbornik. Belgrad, 1939. S. 31-40.
