Power and non-system opposition as subjects of political consensus

Problems of power and opposition relationship in conditions of democratization of the Russian society do not lose its relevance. Opposition between the government and opposition is an interrelated social phenomenon, as the opposition is often generated by the authorities, and the authorities’ ways of dealing with the opposition and opposition’s methods to counter the power are just similar. At the same time, the political opposition is one of the most important characteristics of the political regime, and the criterion for evaluation of its democracy as well. The absence of an effective mechanism for the inclusion of the opposition in the political process and its effective participation in political decision-making, usually leads to the methods of political opposition activities, which are fraught with instability of political development, and can lead even to the crisis of the political system. As the events of the last few years show, the biggest problems of the power exist in relationships with non-systemic (disloyal) opposition. Because the power and the opposition use the same conflict practices in the relationships with each other, the political process in Russia continues to be unstable and unpredictable, and it negatively affects the stability of the political system.
