The authorities and the mass media: interaction or confrontation?

Spheres of social life have an influence on a society and on each other as parts of a complex dynamic system. The government is a social institution that emerges in the political sphere, while the mass media appeares in the cultural one. This article describes the points of contact of these social institutions. The author reviews the possibilities of interference of the mass media and the political power, and considers the examples of mutual influence.
