In the article the stages of preparation of engineers of managers for the domestic economy are considered, beginning from 1885 to the present time on the example of the University; the historical prerequisites for the formation of OPEP in the framework of the engineering economy are examined in detail; considers the basic principles and conditions for the formation of the main professional educational program in the engineering economy at the present stage.
