The article considers changes in economic indicators in Slovakia for two periods from 2000-2008 before the economic crisis and after it from 2009 to 2018 taking into account the influence of the European Union and the adoption of a single European currency. Statistical sources of International Monetary Fund and Statistical office of Slovak Republic were used to obtain the data.
