The impact of digitalization on the economy of the public sector

Currently, a significant number of studies are devoted to the digital economy and digitalization, however, not enough attention is paid to various aspects of the impact of digitalization on the economy of the public sector, which determines the relevance of the chosen topic. The main thesis of the article is the substantiation of the idea that the most important accelerator for the development of the public sector in modern conditions is digitalization. The digitalization of the public sector has undeniable advantages, such as: increasing the efficiency of fiscal policy, expanding the range of public services, improving the quality of public and municipal services, etc. However, digitalization in the public sector also has negative aspects, hidden threats, which are also analyzed in the article. The conclusion is made about the impact of digitalization on the direction and speed of development of the public sector.
