The deltamethrin effect on the functional activity of the thyroid gland in mouse-like rodents with a single exposure

The research was aimed at evaluating the functional activity of the thyroid gland in mouselike rodents in the case of single exposure to toxic doses of a synthetic pyrethroid deltamethrin. Deltamethrin at a dose of 1/2 LD50 (43.5 mg/kg body weight for rats and 18.75 mg/kg for northern red-backed voles) caused thyroid hypofunction in mouse-like rodents, which was manifested by a decrease in the level of thyroid hormones in the blood serum. Secretion of thyroid-stimulating hormone increased in rats compensatorily. When male northern red-backed voles were exposed to deltamethrin, an increase in the ratio of T4/T3 was noted. When rats and female northern red-backed voles were exposed to the substance, this ratio did not change
