The article deals with the impact of breathing exercises on the functional state of children attending a special education school of the 8th type (for children with intellectual disabilities). The authors justify the actuality of this topic and indicate the practical value of the study. According to the results special breathing exercises at the Adapted Physical Education classes for children with intellectual disabilities help develop proper breathing skills, improve functioning of external respiratory system, stabilize psycho-emotional state of children and increase their physical performance.
