The article provides a theoretical analysis of a number of approaches to understanding the essence of environmental factors, their impact on the level of competitiveness of a company. Based on a review of the approaches of various authors to the classification of competitiveness factors of a company, their generalized author’s classification is proposed, as well as a brief description of political, legal, economic, sociocultural, and technical factors. The article also presents the results of a practical analysis of the influence of macroenvironment factors on the competitiveness of a company and its products on the example of a particular enterprise, using the PEST analysis technique
