Influence of different origin factors on long-term dynamics of small mammal communities in mountain forests in the south of Middle Siberia

Бесплатный доступ

On the basis of multiyear data collected in the natural reserve «Stolby» (1981-2009) about the dynamics of small mammals population the major parameters of the environment (temperature, precipitations, yield capacity of feeding stuffs, population of raptors) were determined and some models of multiple regression for six kinds of animals have been developed. It was found that the dynamics of these animals population depends mainly on the summary of summer temperatures and the summary of summer rainfalls, which determine fluctuations of numerosity by 31-56 %. In addition, the influence of seed crop capacity of wood species as well as predators' (small mustelids) pressure should not be underestimated.
