Gamification influencing motivation to learn: experience in implementation of gamified online course in UK country study

The paper discusses gamification of learning as one of possible approaches to motivating a student. The authors specify the notions of gamification and e-learning as a tool and a gamified content development environment. According to the theoretical data a gamified online course on the UK country study is created on the Moodle platform “E-SUSU 2.0”. Besides gamification, the course realizes the principles of blended learning, the subject work programme being its structure base and course completion time corresponding to traditional face-to-face training. The course has been tested in LM-337 (ILIC, SUSU) from February to April, 2018. The students’ results and the survey show positive influence of the gamified online course on motivation, their performance having improved.
