The influence of the geopolitical situation on the monetary policy of the Russian Federation

The current economic situation in Russia is represented by restrictive factors, which is caused by the sanctions regime in relation to domestic enterprises and banks. In such conditions, both positive and negative trends in the Russian economy have been identified. To maintain economic stability and minimize the negative impact of external factors, the Bank of Russia is implementing a set of measures within the framework of monetary policy. In this regard, we can highlight the influence of external factors, including the geopolitical situation and sanctions on the policy implemented in the country to regulate the money and credit markets. The article examines the impact of sanctions on business entities, as well as on the economy as a whole; a set of measures of the monetary policy of the Russian Federation aimed at ensuring the stability of the domestic economy is examined and their effectiveness is assessed.
