The effect of hyperbaric oxygenation on the clinical symptoms of tissue injuries in treatment of patients with fractures of leg bones

2 groups of patients with closed fractures of leg bones under treatment according to Ilizarov were examined. Patients of the main group (69) were additionally subjected to therapeutic course of hyperbaric oxygenation, which had a positive effect on leg edema size reducing, decrease of the pain syndrome manifestation degree. Decrease of the extent of local hemorrhages into tissues and increase of the range of the ankle movements was revealed later. There was statistically significant reduction of the total period of disablement in patients of the main group: for patients with spiral fractures 2-week reduction at the expense of reducing the period of functional rehabilitation, and for patients with comminuted fractures 12-day reduction at the expense of reducing fixation periods and 14-day reduction - at the expense of reducing the period of functional rehabilitation.
