The results of investigation of the chemical-thermocycling treatment influence upon formation of the boroaluminized layer on steels 20 and U12 are presented in the paper. Different modes of thermocycling are investigated. The rate of cooling and heating of the samples in the pastes are set. Metallographic analysis, microhardness measurement of boroaluminized layers are conducted. It is shown that the chemical-thermocycling treatment leads to formation of fine structure and rounding crystal boron cementite in the transition zone in the high-carbon steel.
