For the recent 20 years there has been developing rapidly a new social institution of public relations in Russia. Its characteristics are in the focus of the article based on the content analysis of the printed media. It is indicated the dynamic introduction of PR technologies in the everyday social activities of other institutions, which makes a positive impact on the current processes in the society.
