The effect of an ion radiopaque agent on the morphofunctional state of the kidneys in rabbits with experimental urinary retention

The delay of urination in domestic animals, especially in domestic cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, is a problem not only for the animals themselves, but also for their owners, who set tasks for veterinary specialists comparable to the tasks of humanitarian medicine. One of the tasks in the curation of a sick animal with urinary retention is a reliable diagnosis, causes of occurrence and assessment of not only the general, but also the systemic condition. One of the methods of objective assessment of the morphofunctional state of the kidneys in an urgent situation is the method of excretory urography. An excretory urographic study of the kidneys in rabbits was performed to determine their morphofunctional state with experimental urinary retention after 24, 48 and 72 hours from the start of the experiment. To perform X-ray studies, a stationary complex of direct digital radiography, the X-R Static classic X-DR XL device was used. In the experimental group, the increase in serum creatinine after the use of an ion RCS trazograph, against the background of acute urinary retention, was higher by 92.22 mmol/l relative to the control parameters by 72 hours, urea nitrogen. After 72 hours when the trazograph was administered to rabbits of the experimental group, it was higher by 13.4 mmol/l relative to the initial data. During excretory urography using an ion radiopaque agent, its effect on the clinical status, some biochemical parameters of blood serum was established, and a morphometric assessment of the size of the kidneys, the ratio of the thickness of the cerebral and cortical layers, the volume of the pelvis and the diameter of the ureters was also given. A comparative analysis of the obtained data was carried out.
