The impact of the economic situation on the social stratification of the Russian society

The article deals with the dynamics of social stratification in Russia. The author discusses the factors determining the degree of population stratification. The social stratification of Russian and European societies is compared. The paper presents comparative indicators of declining real income of the population and the dynamics of social spending in the Federal budget. The author suggests possible measures focused on the reducing of social inequality implemented at the state level.
