The impact of conformity on social behavior

The article considers a sociological approach to the study of conformity as a social phenomenon. The main attention is paid to the concepts of such representatives of this trend as E. Durkheim, R. Merton and V. A. Yadov. Analyzing various theories of conformity, the author identifies their features in assessing the role of this phenomenon in social relations and in the manifestation of individual behavior. In addition, literary sources are considered in which one can observe a description of conformal behavior.
