The impact of corruption on FDI inflow

This article reviewed the theoretical and empirical studies of the FDI determinants. The authors found that the degree of corruption in the country exerts a significant influence on the dynamics of foreign direct investment. Most researchers argue that corruption is a marker of a weak institutional environment and has negative impact on FDI inflows into the economy. However, some authors have identified a positive effect of corruption on the FDI inflow.
