In this study we suggest testing a concentrate of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), the content of ω-3 12.2% and ω-6 15.1%, as an alternative source of dietary fatty acids. We have estimated the effect of liposomal form of concentrate PUFA as a hypolipidemic agent in the treatment of experimental hyperlipidemia. It has been established that oral administration of liposome-based concentrate derived from Baikal seal fat contributed to a significant reduction in total cholesterol (TC) by 48% in the blood serum of rats fed on the atherogenic diet with lipid recovery to the figures of the intact group of animals. The results indicate lipid-lowering activity of the test concentrate.
