Impact of misdiagnosis on effectiveness of medical care of patients wit acute myocardial infarction

Comparative analysis of prevalence of the myocardial infarction (MI) misdiagnosis cases was performed. We combined data from all recently published studies eliciting cases both unrecognized MI and unnecessary hospitalization. We found that 20.1 % cases of hospitalization of patients with suspected MI were been unnecessary. At the same time, 3.3 % cases of myocardial infarction were been unrecognized.
