Influence of body mass at birth on the success of learning in schoolchildren of 1-11 classes

We retrospectively studied the relationship between body weight at birth and the success of learning of 251 graduates from 10 general schools in Kirov. We found that schoolchildren of grades from 1 to 11 are the more successful at learning, the higher their body weight at birth. In boys born with a small body weight, the success of learning is lower than that of their peers born with normal body weight. This pattern in girls is less pronounced. In boys, regardless of body weight at birth, the success of learning in grades from 1 to 11 is lower than that of girls
