The impact of international demand for coal as an environmental and economic problem

The author of the article presents an analysis of the fall in international demand for coal, which is fraught not only with huge losses for coal companies, but also with social problems in the coal-producing region of Kuzbass. The article analyzes the obligations of EU countries to preserve the environment for the removal of coal from the fuel and energy balance in the framework of the Paris climate agreement.
