The article substantiates the importance of tax policy as a tool to increase the competitiveness of the region. The influence of certain elements of tax policy on the regional economy is shown on the example of the Lipetsk region. The directions of improving tax policy aimed at further increasing the investment attractiveness of the region and the quality of life of its population are proposed.
