The revealed in the Kurgan region fact of the significant decrease of the level of population consumption of adequate animal protein after 1990 has led to increase of sick children in number, to decrease of newborns' body sizes and also to that of the indices of their functional maturity, which is №t compensated by pre-school period either. The decrease of definitive body sizes of adolescents is comparatively brief. Over the last 3-4 years the tendency emerged towards the improvement of newborns' anthropometric indices, the decrease of their morbidity level and their intrauterine development inhibition.
