Influence of non-systematic use of narcotic substances on suicidological characteristics in men suffering from alcohol addiction

At present a great number of scientific works have been devoted to the problem of alcohol addiction and autoaggressive behavior interrelation. Prevalence of alcohol addiction and suicidal behavior are known to be the indicators of modern society well-being. It is widely knpwn that alcohol addiction and autoaggressive behavior are in close association with each other. However, research works dealing with the factors increasing or decreasing the risk of their appearance still need further investigation. Having analyzed the works devoted to the study of autoaggressive potential in men suffering from alcohol addiction, we were not able to find any data concerning the influence of unsystematic drug consumption on patients’ autoaggressive “profile”. In our clinical practice we often had patients suffering from alcohol addiction who occasionally used narcotic substances but who did not have signs of drug addiction.
