The article shows that unstable cognitive states of students learning to solve mathematical problems lead to changes in the dynamics of learning activity. For the experimental sample of subjects (240 students) the authors found that 75 % of students are characterized by negative dynamics of learning activity that is an increase in time and labor effort to solve a problem, while 25 % of students are characterized by positive dynamics, namely by the reduction of time and labor effort.
