Cardiovascular diseases take one of the first places by death rate in the world. And the most widespread one in this group is arterial hypertension, characterized by high blood pressure, which isn't usually shown. But if you don't take measures in time, after a certain period abnormal changes can be recorded on the side of all the organs and systems of the organism. So it is necessary to take preventive measures, specifically regular exercises and sport, in order to avoid such negative consequences. For this reason, the research on the influence of health-improving swimming and sauna session on the cardiovascular and respiratory systems was carried out among the men at the age of 50-55 and the women of 38-45. The research was held on the basis of the sports and fitness complex. The first stage lasted three months with the trainings three times a week and dealt with teaching the technical skills of using the breaststroke. The second stage lasted two months with the trainings three times a week and consisted in modeling of training load during the training. And the third stage included two or three trainings in the micro cycle and dealt with health-improving swimming (500-550 meters) in combination with sauna session for 10-12 minutes in the heat chamber where the air temperature is 80-90°C and the relative humidity is 5-10%. According to suggested method, health-improving swimming (breaststroke) in combination with sauna session surely favours the normalization of the blood pressure and the growth of the lung capacity of men and women.
