Influence of additive ash and slag waste on the melting of a basalt-slag mixture

The article presents the results of an experimental comparison of the melting of various mixtures of basalt from the Enkhor deposit and refractory industrial waste (ash and slag from a waste incineration plant). The results of melting are correlated with the energy consumption for melting these mixtures in the production of fibrous heat-insulating materials. The experiments were carried out in three stages. Using electron microscopy and the method of energy-dispersive spectral X-ray analysis with subsequent identification of the spectra, both the initial components of the mixture in pure form and their mixtures were studied. The fibers obtained by the centrifugal blowing method were also studied in terms of the composition and size of the fibers. In conclusion, recommendations are given on the disposal of ash and slag waste by the electroplasma method and the composition of mixtures, added ash and slag materials.
