Influence of processes of in-regional migration on the formation of spatial imbalances of the region (on the example of the Kaluga region)

The article discusses the impact of intraregional migration on the formation of spatial imbalances in the region. The regional policy of socio-economic development, aimed at the formation of growth centers, inevitably leads to the opposite effects in the peripheral territories, as the latter become donors of labor resources. The deterioration of the demographic situation in these territories leads to stagnation in the labor market and a decrease in business activity. Growing centers and stagnating periphery determine the differentiation of indicators of social and economic development, form the prerequisites for increasing spatial imbalances. This does not mean that regional policy should exclude the possibility of concentrated growth in certain territories, but it requires it to form social smoothing measures.
